About me

BIO

Hi There, my name is Shane and I’ve been a dog lover my whole life. I started out dog sitting for family and friends. When we finally got a family dog I started learning about training and dog behaviour. Fast forward to 2017 when I got to go down to California to learn from the dog whisperer, Cesar Millan. Since then I have continued to apply and learn dog psychology. What I love about dog psychology is that it teaches you how dogs learn and how they understand the world. This has been a game changer for me and has helped me have an even deeper relationship with my dogs.

My Mission

I want to help you connect and have a fulfilling relationship with your dog. So often our dogs are given up or put down because they are misunderstood. We owe it to them to be the best owners by fulfilling their needs and listen to what they are trying to tell us.

Why Dog Psychology?

First off, what is dog psychology?

Dog psychology is how a dog learns and interprets the world. It’s how they are and operate in the world.

Why is it important to learn?

It’s important because it gives us the foundation to understand how they communicate so that we can effectively communicate with them. Far too often we expect dogs to know what we are asking them but we are trying to communicate through our language. By learning dog psychology we can begin to communicate to dogs on their level. This leads to more peace, trust, and a better relationship with your dog.

What’s the difference. between training and. dog psychology?

Traditional dog training focuses on the position a dog is in. It also teaches in a way that focuses on how humans learn, not dogs (using words and sounds).

A dog psycholgoy approach to training focuses on the mindset the dog is in and what they are communicating. It also teaches based on how dogs learn and communicate with each other.
